Bank of England MPC Team

The MPC voted by a majority of 8-1 to maintain Bank Rate at 0.5%. The Committee also voted unanimously to maintain the stock of purchased assets financed by the issuance of central bank reserves at £375 billion. Read more on the Bank of England website

Turkish Bank

Turkish Bank have today reduced the interest rate from 2.5% down to 2.3% on their 3 year Fixed Bond. Even so, it still retains top spot in our Fixed Term savings account table. There are NO 4 Year Fixed Term savings accounts that beat the 2.3% currently being offered by Turkish Bank on their 3 year Fixed Bond account.

Secure Trust Bank

Secure Trust Bank has today launched a 2 year Fixed Rate Bond. At 2.2% it jumps straight into our Fixed Term savings account table. If this 2 year term is what you are looking for then be quick because they anticipate the closing date being 8 Aug 2016... if not before!

TSB

TSB slash the interest rate of its Monthly Saver account. What had been an eye catching rate has plummeted from 5% down to 2% on all new accounts opened from 30 June 2016. This move by TSB means that this account drops totally out of our Regular Saver table.

Union Bank of India (UK) Ltd

It may be a new Month yet it's still the same old problem for savers as Union Bank of India cuts interest rates across their Fixed Term Deposit accounts and so drop out of our 5 year Fixed Term savings account table. Indeed there are now NO 4 Year Fixed Term savings accounts that beat the (2.5%) NOW 2.3% currently being offered by Turkish Bank on their 3 year Fixed Term account.
